ASK: Create a type specimen book on a deck of cards using the topic / theme of our choice. Choose four typefaces from one foundry, and use one typeface for each suit. Evaluate the sizes, weights, texture, readability, and how it works in headlines v. body copy, etc.. Be sure to show off the nuances of the font in your deck.
PROCESS: Researched Futura type and sought to emphasize its bold and sharp architecture. After several iterations, I focused on Futura’s prevalent use in movie titles and posters. By combining drawings and Futura characters in illustrations, I emphasized the unique architecture and aesthetic of the typeface.
